Tides of Annihilation Just Jumped to the Top of My List

I wasn't expecting to care this much about a game I'd barely heard of a few months ago. Tides of Annihilation caught my attention fast, and it hasn't let go since.

The Gameplay Hooked Me First

The combat mechanics are what pulled me in initially. There's a rhythm to how the fights are shown in the footage so far, fast, aggressive, with enough weight behind each hit that it doesn't feel like button-mashing. I've watched more of the gameplay clips than I probably should admit, and every time something new shows up, a new ability, a new enemy pattern, it makes me want to see more.

Post-Apocalyptic London Is a Great Setting Choice

The setting deserves its own mention. Post-apocalyptic London isn't a backdrop I've seen done often, and there's something genuinely unsettling about watching familiar landmarks half-swallowed by whatever catastrophe reshaped this version of the city. That mix of recognizable and wrong is exactly what makes a setting stick with you. I want to walk through those streets and figure out what happened here.

I'll Say It Plainly: The Character Design Works On Me Too

I'm not going to pretend the protagonist's design isn't part of the appeal. She's striking, and the art team clearly put real thought into her look. That's not the only reason I want to play this game, but it's not nothing either, and I'd rather just say that directly than dance around it.

Where This Sits On My List

Tides of Annihilation is on my must-play list without question at this point. Between the combat, the setting, and yes, the character work across the board, this is one I'm actively looking forward to. Gameplay first, but I won't pretend the rest doesn't matter too.

We'll have more coverage as new details come out. Check the full release details on our game page for everything confirmed so far.
