Witcher 3 Remastered Has Me More Excited Than Almost Anything Else Coming

Witcher 3 is my favorite game. Not favorite RPG. Favorite game, top to bottom, ahead of everything else I've played. So when Witcher 3 Remastered and the new DLC coming in 2027 land near the top of what I'm looking forward to right now, that carries weight coming from someone who's spent this many hours in this specific world.
The Remaster Alone Would Be Enough

I've replayed Witcher 3 more times than I can accurately count. Full playthroughs, side quests included, multiple runs through the Bloody Baron storyline, more Gwent games than I want to admit to. This world is one I know intimately, and I'm still genuinely eager to walk through it again with a proper remaster behind it.
That eagerness isn't just nostalgia. Seeing Velen's swamps, Novigrad's crowded streets, and Skellige's coastline rendered with technology the original team never had access to matters. This world already carried atmosphere better than almost anything else in gaming. A remaster doesn't fix something broken here. It lets a game that already succeeded look as good as it always deserved to.
New DLC in 2027 Is What Really Has Me Watching

Here's the part that actually excites me most, more than the remaster itself. New DLC content arriving in 2027, years past Blood and Wine wrapping up a story I assumed was finished, changes how I'm thinking about this game right now.
Blood and Wine stands as one of the best expansions ever made for any RPG. Toussaint's vineyards and knights-in-shining-armor aesthetic gave Geralt's story a genuinely satisfying send-off, one I thought closed the book for good. New content years later means CD Projekt Red found something in this world worth telling again. After what this team pulled off with Blood and Wine, I trust them with whatever comes next.
Why Getting Both Together Matters

A remaster alone would have earned my attention. New DLC alone would have been exciting on its own. Getting both at once, a chance to experience the base game at its best right alongside genuinely new content in the same world, doesn't come around often for a game that means this much to me.
I don't have full details on what the 2027 DLC covers yet, and I won't pretend otherwise. What I know is that this is the same team behind Blood and Wine, returning to a world I've spent more hours in than any other game I own.
Where This Sits For Me
Between the remaster and the new DLC, this might be what I'm most excited about across everything releasing over the next year. Not because it's flashy new IP promising something unproven, but because it's a return to the world and character that made me fall in love with this series, backed by a team that's already shown they know how to make this world work. We'll see how it comes together. Right now, I'm just glad I get to go back.
We'll cover every detail as CD Projekt Red shares more about both the remaster and the 2027 DLC.
